Product Operations Manager

Salary Competitive

We’re looking for a Product Operations Manager to help us run a tighter, smarter product team at Electricity Maps. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working close to product decisions, shaping problems, tightening execution, and building systems that help us learn faster without needing to be the one setting the roadmap.

You’ll work across the full product lifecycle:

  • Before we commit, you’ll help gather insights and frame problems.

  • After we ship, you’ll help us track what worked, what didn’t, and what we’re hearing from users.

  • In between, you’ll support smooth, consistent execution across teams.

You’ll take ownership of how we operate, from managing tools and processes to making sure feedback loops are closed and projects don’t fall through the cracks. This isn’t a junior support role or a stepping stone to product management. It’s a senior individual contributor role for someone who wants to have direct impact on improving how we run, not just define what we build.

Where You’ll Make a Difference 🛠️

Shape through insight and context
  • Gather and synthesize feedback from users, internal teams, and product data.

  • Spot themes, gaps, and opportunities and help frame problems worth solving

  • Support early shaping discussions with context on appetite, tradeoffs, and edge cases

Support smooth, reliable execution
  • Work with our product lead to coordinate across design, engineering, sales and marketing to ensure nothing falls through the cracks

  • Manage product delivery details like access gating, changelogs, QA, and release checklists

  • Keep tools like Linear, Notion, and internal dashboards useful and usable

Build the feedback loops that help us learn
  • Monitor how shipped features perform in usage, feedback, and support

  • Keep product data flowing (e.g. PostHog) and usable

  • Design simple, reliable processes to make learnings visible to the team

Own and improve how we operate
  • Identify friction in how we work and propose better ways to do it

  • Maintain internal product rituals (e.g. kickoffs, retros, launches)

  • Evolve our tooling and processes as the product surface grows

You’ll Thrive Here If You… 🔍

  • Have experience identifying and leading process or systems changes in Product Ops, BizOps, Product Analytics, or a similar

  • Are motivated by how teams work as much as what they ship

  • Have worked in lean, cross-functional product teams (bonus if you know Shape Up)

  • Are comfortable jumping into tools like PostHog, Intercom, Notion, Linear, Figma…

  • Don’t need everything defined to take action

  • Can prioritize signal over noise and momentum over perfection

Working at
Electricity Maps

Electricity Maps provides actionable electricity data for more than 200 regions. We help businesses more effectively reduce their emissions, and enable products and services to differentiate their offerings by empowering end-users to be more carbon-aware. As wind and solar production fluctuate throughout the day, this information needs to be dynamic and updated in real-time. As this real-time information about the physical origin of electricity will be scrutinized and challenged by many parties, the effort has to be collaborative, open, and transparent. This is what motivated the creation of Electricity Maps. It started as a simple real-time data visualization in June 2016 and turned into a comprehensive data platform with high scientific integrity. More than 40,000 people use our app on a daily basis and market leaders like Google and Microsoft, are using our API for extensive projects in order to reach their climate goals and help their users take action against climate change. Our goal: a truly decarbonized electricity system. To get there, we will organize the world's electricity information, and use it to drive the transition toward a truly decarbonized electricity system.
