The Opportunity

We've proven our solution works. Now we need an exceptional technical leader to scale from a working MVP with early adopters to a robust, enterprise-grade SaaS platform serving thousands of energy project developers.

You'll be joining at the perfect inflection point—we have product-market validation, paying customers, and a clear path to capturing our $192M serviceable market. Your mission is to architect and build the scalable infrastructure that will make Elysium Energy the operating system for distributed energy.

What You'll Do

In your first 6 months, you'll architect and implement scalable SaaS infrastructure to handle 100+ enterprise customers, refactor our MVP into production-grade code, and establish engineering best practices. You'll drive the technical roadmap from pilot-ready MVP to full-featured platform, build out our optimization algorithms for investment-grade accuracy, and launch our PLG features. You'll also hire and manage our first engineering team (founding engineer, energy modeling engineer, full-stack developer) and establish our engineering culture.

Beyond the first 6 months, you'll lead our evolution from developer tool to multi-sided marketplace connecting developers, clients, and financiers. You'll build the infrastructure for marketplace features, architect our data strategy to enable network effects, and implement ML/AI capabilities. You'll partner with the CEO on product strategy, communicate technical vision to stakeholders, and make critical technical decisions that position us for long-term competitive advantage.

Who You Are

You have 5+ years of software engineering experience with at least 2 years in senior roles, and a proven track record scaling SaaS products from early stage to significant user bases. You're deeply expert in Python (our core language for energy modeling and optimization) with strong full-stack capabilities and experience building data-intensive applications. You've built and led engineering teams from 0 to 10+ people.

You have a builder mentality and love writing code, not just managing. You're product-minded, thinking about user problems rather than just technical solutions. You're a systems thinker who sees how technology, business model, and go-to-market fit together. You thrive in ambiguity and are mission-driven about accelerating the energy transition.

Bonus points for: Background in energy, climate tech, or complex B2B SaaS (especially marketplace platforms); experience with optimization algorithms or scientific computing; previous startup experience from pre-seed to Series A; domain expertise in data analytics, ML/AI, or financial modeling.
