We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to take full ownership of TIND’s cloud architecture and reliability. Reporting directly to the CTO, you will be the backbone of our engineering operations, ensuring our platform is scalable, secure, and performant for universities and research institutions worldwide.
In this role, you will own the AWS environment (managed via Terraform), optimize our CI/CD pipelines, and drive architectural improvements to support new features. You will act as the guardian of system uptime, managing observability, incident response, and regular maintenance to ensure a seamless experience for our customers.
This is a high-impact role where you will move between strategic planning, such as designing database migrations and cost optimization strategies, and hands-on execution, such as debugging complex errors or managing release cycles. You will have significant freedom to choose the right tools and define the infrastructure roadmap.
We are looking for someone who loves automation, takes pride in a "green" dashboard, and enjoys enabling the development team to ship code faster and safer.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Own the entire AWS architecture using Terraform, managing state, modules, and updates to ensure a reproducible and scalable environment.
CI/CD & Release Management: Maintain and optimize pipelines (CodeBuild, Packer, Atlantis) and execute regular releases, managing GitHub branches/permissions to ensure smooth customer deployments.
Observability & Monitoring: Own the full monitoring stack (Grafana, InfluxDB, Sentry). Manage automated alerts to catch issues proactively before they impact customers.
System Reliability & Maintenance: Provision and manage QA/Prod instances via Terraform and Ansible. Handle routine patching, backups, and proactive stability work.
Incident Response: Serve as the first line of defense for downtime and critical alerts, debugging complex errors, and ensuring rapid resolution.
Network & Security: Manage DNS, WAF configurations, Bot control, and Load Balancing to secure our traffic.
Internal Tooling: Manage automation tools and assist the engineering team with development environment setups.
3-5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Cloud Infrastructure.
Deep expertise in AWS architecture and services.
Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
Experience managing CI/CD pipelines and release workflows.
Familiarity with configuration management tools like Ansible.
Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python) and familiarity with Linux administration.
Experience with observability tools (Grafana, Sentry, etc.).
Problem-solver mindset: You remain calm during incidents and enjoy digging deep to find the root cause of complex technical issues.
Entrepreneurial mindset: Proactive, able to identify cost or performance improvements, and propose solutions to the CTO.
A critical role with full ownership of the infrastructure stack in a high-growth SaaS scale-up.
The opportunity to design the future architecture of a global platform.
Hands-on experience with a modern tech stack (Terraform, AWS, Kubernetes/Rancher).
A global customer base and an international, collaborative work culture.
Competitive compensation and benefits.
Hybrid work model (Oslo HQ with remote flexibility).
