We are hiring a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to own the stability of our on-prem infrastructure, streamline our operations, and lay the foundations for our ISO/SOC2 security maturity journey.
We are Autoflows. We serve 1,500+ automotive dealerships across Europe, and our platform is the "nervous system" of their aftersales service. When we work, they make money. When we stop, they stop.
Unlike many SaaS companies, we are profitable. We don't rely on the next VC round to pay salaries; we rely on our product's commercial success. We are looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) who understands that shipping features pays the bills.
You will be the bridge between "Move Fast" and "Don't Break Things." We want an engineer who builds the guardrails so our developers can run at full speed without crashing. You will ensure our platform is bulletproof during business hours. You will own the health of our 'nervous system,' ensuring that as we scale, our infrastructure remains fast, stable, and secure by design.
We run on Hetzner servers because it delivers the best ROI - and every build-vs-buy decision follows the same philosophy.
We are on a modernization journey:
Moving from legacy to a modern, efficient on-prem stack
Strengthening automation and reliability
Preparing for Kubernetes, event driven architecture and a data platform built around Medallion Architecture
You will treat infrastructure as a product - your customers are internal developers. If a security control slows them down, it’s the wrong control.
Operational Resilience & SRE Culture (Shared Duty): You share the operational load in our team. You help maintain our "nervous system" (Airflow, Proxmox, Bare Metal), ensuring high availability. You aren't just watching dashboards; you are jumping in to fix infrastructure bottlenecks when they arise.
Postgres & Data Reliability: We run self-managed Postgres. You bring the operational maturity to ensure our backups are bulletproof and our disaster recovery plans are more than just a document.
Observability from Metal to App: You own the "eyes and ears" of the stack (Prometheus/Grafana/Loki). You ensure we have visibility not just on the apps, but down to the bare metal and hypervisor level.
Lead the Compliance Journey: You will drive our path to ISO27001/SOC2 readiness. Instead of manual checklists, you will design automated, engineer-friendly controls that satisfy auditors without slowing down product development.
Security that Enables Velocity: You are the shield between raw security data and our developers. You manage SBOMs, triage vulnerabilities, and own Identity Management (Keycloak), ensuring we are secure by design.
Linux Roots: 4+ years with Linux (ideally RHEL or related families). You are comfortable with the grit of dedicated hardware and networking.
The "Business Mindset": Optimal security over perfect security
Operational Security Experience: You have worked in environments with compliance requirements (ISO/SOC2) and understand the controls, but you view security as a standard part of good operations, not a standalone administrative burden.
Enjoy working together and taking an active part in a positive work environment.
Experience in a high-performance scale-up. You understand that while we are well-capitalized, we believe in efficiency over excess.
Familiarity with compliance tools (Vanta/Drata) but the wisdom to not let them dictate our roadmap.
K8s production experience to ensure we land safely. You know how to architect secure clusters so we don't trade on-prem stability for container chaos.
Event-Driven Ops (Kafka): You have exposure to running or securing Kafka/streaming platforms. You know how to handle authentication and resource limits so the message bus never goes down.
Data Platform Readiness: We are moving toward a Medallion Architecture (Delta Lake, Spark) in the coming months. You will help us design and secure the underlying infrastructure to ensure this new stack is production-ready from day one.
Previous experience of automation and scripting and desired state declaration in relevant languages, such as Terraform, Ansible and implementing GitOps.
Note: This role is fully onsite in our Copenhagen office (Højbro Plads).
Introduction (45 minutes): Online introduction to Autoflows and you.
Deep Dive (2 hours): Personality test and case-based interview with selected team members and Head of Engineering.
Note: We respect your time. No homework or prior preparation is needed for the case; we will work through it together in the room.
Closing talk (30 minute): Final talk with Head of Engineering & CEO, including practical details.
