MapsPeople is entering a pivotal phase of AI-led transformation and growth, shaping the future of spatial intelligence and indoor navigation for large enterprise customers worldwide. As we scale our MapsIndoors platform, we are strengthening the connection between customer needs and product innovation.

The Product Engineer plays a key role in this journey by acting as the technical bridge between customers and code, combining customer-facing technical leadership with hands-on product development.


The Role

In this hybrid role, you will work closely with customers, Product, and Engineering to ensure customer challenges are quickly understood and solved, while directly contributing to the evolution of the MapsPeople platform.

You will spend part of your time engaging with enterprise customers, leading technical discovery, onboarding, and problem-solving, and part of your time building product features, integrations, and tooling. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys switching between customer interaction and deep technical work, with a strong sense of ownership and impact.


What you will do

  • Lead technical discovery sessions with enterprise customers to understand architectures, requirements, and constraints

  • Own post-sales onboarding, ensuring customers achieve fast time-to-value

  • Act as a trusted technical advisor for customers and partners

  • Build and deliver demos and proof-of-concepts to showcase product capabilities

  • Handle escalated support issues, identifying patterns and feeding insights back into product development.

  • Translate customer insights into new product features in collaboration with Engineering

  • Diagnose and fix critical bugs to unblock customer implementations

  • Build tools and integrations to accelerate customer deployments

  • Contribute to SDKs, APIs, and developer documentation Prototype new product capabilities using AI and emerging technologies


We imagine you come with

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

  • 4+ years of experience building and operating production software systems

  • Full-stack development experience (JavaScript/TypeScript, React or Angular, Node.js and/or .NET)

  • Strong experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs

  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development workflows

  • Experience with agentic software development tools (e.g. Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Cursor)

  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences


Preferred qualifications (nice to have)

  • Mobile development experience (iOS/Android, React Native, or Flutter)

  • Experience with mapping libraries such as Mapbox GL JS or Google Maps APIs

  • Background in mapping, GIS, or geospatial data

  • Cloud platform experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP)

  • Experience in technical pre-sales, solutions engineering, or developer relations

  • Experience supporting enterprise B2B SaaS implementations
