Salary Competitive

We are hiring a hands-on DevOps Engineer to help us professionalize our engine room. We are currently transitioning from a "startup" setup - characterized by snowflake bare metal servers and naive networking - to a mature, maintainable, and cloud-native stack running in our datacenter.

You will work directly with our DevOps Tech Lead to build the platform that empowers our developers to self-serve. We are also actively expanding the team with an SRE role, so you will be joining a growing infrastructure squad with high ambitions for 2026.

The Mission: From "Snowflakes" to "Platform Engineering"

We are Autoflows. We serve 1,500+ automotive dealerships across Europe, and our platform is the "nervous system" of their aftersales service. When we work, they make money. When we stop, they stop.

Unlike many SaaS companies, we are profitable. We don't rely on the next VC round to pay salaries; we rely on our product's commercial success. We are looking for a DevOps Engineer who understands that shipping features pays the bills.

We believe in the Platform Engineering ethos: our developers are your customers. Your goal is to make their lives easier while "baking in" the compliance and stability we need as we scale.

  • Kill the Snowflakes: We are moving away from manual configuration. You will use Terraform and Ansible to turn our "pet" servers into "cattle," ensuring infrastructure is reproducible.

  • Empower via GitOps: Build self-service capabilities so developers can deploy safely without asking for permission.

  • Balance Build vs. Buy: We run on Hetzner (EU). We prefer Cloud Native OSS technology on our own metal, but we are pragmatic - we use managed services when it saves time.

The 2026 Technical Focus

We have clear goals for the coming year. We are not chasing every new trend; we are building a solid foundation:

  • Core Infrastructure: Professionalizing our Proxmox clusters and implementing a robust, segmented Network architecture.

  • Data Platform: Supporting Airflow and the rollout of our Medallion Architecture infrastructure.

  • Future PoCs: We are exploring Kubernetes and Kafka at a Proof-of-Concept level this year to prepare for the future, but our primary focus is stabilizing the current stack.

Engineering Compliance (The "Builder" Approach)

We need to level up our compliance stance (NIS2/SOC2/ISO) in 2026, but we want to solve this with Engineering, not just policy documents. You will help us:

  • Build the "Safe" Places: Architect and deploy a proper, sanitized Test Environment that mirrors production but keeps customer data safe.

  • Compliance as Code: Implement strict Access Management (Keycloak) and ensure our GitOps workflows act as our automated audit log.

  • Security hardening: Use IaC to enforce network segmentation and firewall rules, proving to auditors that our system is secure by design.

What You Will Actually Do (The Day-to-Day)

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): You will write the Terraform and Ansible code that replaces manual server configurations.

  • Virtualization & Networking: You will manage Proxmox clusters and Linux environments. You will help professionalize our network setup, moving from flat networks to secure, observable subnets.

  • Postgres Operations: Tune, secure, and verify backups for our self-managed Postgres clusters.

  • Developer Support: You will support our product teams. You don't need to write app code, but you need to understand their architecture and build pipelines to help them ship.

  • Identity & Access: You will help manage authentication flows, ensuring the right people have the right access automatically.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Linux Roots: 4+ years with Linux (ideally RHEL or related families). You are comfortable with the grit of dedicated hardware and networking.

  • IaC Proficiency: Experience with Terraform and Ansible is key. You understand state files, modules, and automation playbooks.

  • Security Awareness: You understand how to implement access control and network segmentation in a practical way.

  • Database Ops: Experience configuring and maintaining PostgreSQL in production (slow query logs, connection pooling).

  • Platform Thinking: You understand that your job is to remove friction for developers, not create gatekeeping.

  • Pragmatic Automator: You value automation and strive to script repetitive tasks to ensure consistency, but you are not dogmatic about it. You automate where it adds value.

  • Pragmatic Security: You understand compliance (ISO/SOC2) and network segmentation, but you view security as a standard part of good operations, not a standalone burden.

  • Enjoy working together and taking an active part in a positive work environment.

Ideally, you also have

  • Experience in a high-performance scale-up. You understand that while we are well-capitalized, we believe in efficiency over excess.

  • Familiarity with compliance tools (Vanta/Drata) but the wisdom to not let them dictate our roadmap.

  • K8s production experience to ensure we land safely. You know how to architect secure clusters so we don't trade on-prem stability for container chaos.

  • Event-Driven Ops (Kafka): Exposure to running/securing streaming platforms.

  • Data Platform Readiness: Experience with Medallion Architecture and technology.

Note: This role is fully onsite in our Copenhagen office (Højbro Plads).
