Simple is a next-generation platform and intelligence provider for family offices and private investors.
Our mission is to help family offices start faster, run smarter, and continually improve. For the last couple of years, Simple has done this by being the family office space's trusted provider of knowledge, services, and connections, combining curated insights and research with data-driven tools, AI-powered solutions, and our global expert network. From launching a new office to upgrading operations, we provide the building blocks, benchmarking, and service provider data needed to make better decisions. Going forward, we see ourselves as a major player in supporting family offices through their agentic transition.
Our small but global team is hands-on, curious, and ambitious. We design straightforward solutions for complex challenges, bringing clarity, speed, and trust to a space that is both highly private and rapidly evolving.
Based in Copenhagen (preferred), or remote from one of our hub cities where Simple has a strong team presence.
To lead the technical direction of Simple across three fronts:
Internal tools that let us scale our services agentically.
Our client platform, delivering sovereign AI for family offices.
Direct engagement with individual offices, supporting their AI and data transition and feeding those learnings back into the platform.
This is a hands-on CTO role: you set technical direction, ship, and show up in front of clients.
Internal: Work on various internal tool improvements to reduce internal workload and become reusable product building blocks.
Platform: Deliver a scalable, secure sovereign AI platform with the data foundations (pipelines, governance, observability, access controls) to support RAG and client-grade workflows, used weekly by Simple's team and early clients.
Office-facing: Partner directly with a handful of family offices on their AI and data transition, turning their pain points into productised capabilities.
Cadence: Turn product strategy into weekly deliverables through a clear engineering operating rhythm.
Full ownership of platform engineering: architecture, build, testing, deployment, and performance.
Accountability for execution speed and product quality.
Own the hiring plan and first key engineering hires to scale delivery.
Own the engineering operating rhythm: planning, prioritisation, delivery tracking, retros, incident reviews.
Guarding system security, data integrity, and compliance readiness.
Someone who works with speed, detail, and trustworthiness in handling sensitive information.
Thrives in ambiguity and builds scalable systems from incomplete requirements.
Translates client pain points into simple, credible technical solutions.
Prototypes quickly, ships early, iterates toward productisation.
Balances speed with disciplined handling of sensitive data and compliance.
Defaults to open source where it reduces lock-in, improves trust, and speeds delivery.
Works systematically, bringing structure to the process from ideation to shipping.
Designs and delivers a practical, deadline-driven roadmap.
AI systems (hands-on): LLM tooling, evals, retrieval/RAG design, embeddings, tool calling, guardrails, latency and cost tradeoffs.
Open source fluency: comfortable evaluating, extending, and contributing to OSS across the AI, data, and web stack. A track record of OSS contributions is a strong plus, particularly relevant for building a sovereign AI platform clients can trust.
Data foundations: pipelines, governance, observability, access controls.
Modern web engineering: working knowledge of our current stack (Next.js + Payload, React, TypeScript, Node.js) or comparable stacks, plus API integrations.
Nice to have: familiarity with the tools we run the business on (Notion, HubSpot, N8N).
Immediate: Own Simple's platform and AI/data direction, deliver early proof points, and establish the engineering cadence.
12 to 24 months: Build and lead the engineering team; mature platform reliability, security, and delivery throughput.
2 to 3 years: Scale the product platform into an enterprise-grade, multi-product foundation supporting Simple's advisory-to-product transition.
